Donation warms (and cools) our hearts

Donation warms (and cools) our hearts

7 December 2018

As the mercury soars and Melbourne swelters through another extremely hot day, we would like to say thank you to the following people for their recent generosity.

Back in July, after receiving a letter from Abacus Mum, Bree Hamm, Dick Smith donated $2,000 to Abacus for the purchase of an air conditioner for the lunch room area.

After speaking with Abacus Director, Justin Bendell, Paul from Coastal Climate Control in Hastings not only installed the unit for us, they also upgraded it to a commercial grade air conditioner.

Then to make sure we had enough power, Justin Coad from Coad Electrics kindly donated his time to run a new circuit and connect the unit.

As you can see from the photos, the air conditioner has made a world of difference to both the students and staff enjoying the space for therapy, lunch and many other activities.

Thank you to everyone who helped with this project, we are sure to be reminded of your kindness when we are cool in summer and warm in winter.
